Florida foliage: Egyptian Starcluster

Wow, what a beautiful display the Egyptian Starcluster makes!

Its latin name is pentas lanceolata, and it is a favorite for birders and butterfly lovers who want to attract hummingbirds and butterflies to their gardens. As its name implies, this flower is native to Africa and the Middle East, but I snapped these photos right here in Central Florida. As you can see, it does very well here.

    1. I hadn’t either and probably would have never known about it. I downloaded this new app called PlantSnap that identifies flowers when you upload photos. It’s great!
