At the risk of sounding sexist, Diners, Drive-ins and Dives seems to be particulaly popular with men. I say this because whenever I wind up watching the show it’s because a man is controlling the remote.
Despite this I do find the food featured on the show to be absolutely out of this world delishable. It’s fun to watch how the food is prepared and seeing Guy Fieri roll into town in his shiny red convertible is enviable.

Here’s a bit of useless trivia… did you know that there are people who travel around trying out all the restaurants featured on the show? Not a bad way to spend time in my opinion although you might want to tow along a treadmill if you’re at all concerned about your figure because triple D does not feature diet food. I haven’t worried about being on a diet in years so I’m good.
Anyway, without further delay here is the list. I start with Orlando and Central Florida as this is my neck of the woods. Enjoy!

Several of my girlfriends and I took a trip to Port St. Joe in July of 2018, three months before Hurricane Michael tore through the panhandle. We rented a beach house and I have to tell you, it was the most relaxing trip I’ve ever been on.
We ate at Indian Pass in Apalatchacola and they served the best bay shrimp and blackened grouper I ever put in my mouth. We will definitely be returning!

Oh that’s lovely. Luckily it was before the hurricane. 😕
If I’m ever up in that area I will have to give that place a try. Sounds like you had a wonderful vacation!

Oh yes! It was awesome! And the beach wasn’t overcrowded!

I live in Central Florida and I’ve never been to any of these restaurants. Well, now I have a new list of restaurants to try. Thank you very sharing this 🌻🦋❤

Yes, I’ve been to a few myself. Enjoy!

That’s something most don’t understand – Fieri doesn’t just show up at a place. No, there’s a process involved.
First, correspondents’ enthusiasm must be sufficient to draw the producers’ attention. Then, the people whom you correctly identify as having the best job in the world sample the offerings. Then, only after a place passes the first two tests, does it become a possibility.
Plus, establishments have to be prepared, warned months in advance Fieri’s coming. Think about it – have you ever seen a diner that isn’t spotless and ultra-tidy?
Anyway, JoAnn, have you ever been to any of the places on your list?

Yes, very true. I’ve read a few restaurant owner accounts of their experiences. The vetting process is lengthy and they also have to ensure that they will be ready for the aftermath. Being on the show understandably causes business to skyrocket.
I’ve tried some of the restaurants in Orlando…. might do a post about that in the future.🙂

Oh, please do, JoAnn! Not only does the prospect fascinate my inner foodie, but you’re also the first person I “know” who’s been to one of these places.

Lol, I probably shouldn’t admit this on here but most are dangerously close to where I live. One is within walking distance and another is across the street from where I work. So I really have little hinderance. 😋

I love that show although we’re probably months behind you in the UK. I’ll be in San Diego visiting my son early next year, then on to Houston to visit my nieces and their families.- so if anyone is from those areas and they know of good places to eat, let me know 🙂

Triple D has a database that you can search by state. The link is in the beginning of this article. I know I’ve seen several episodes that feature Southern California restaurants. I’m sure there are several from Texas as well. Enjoy and feel free to share photos. 😋

Thanks JoAnn. Looking forward to it all and of course, there’ll be pics 😋

I like the show as well and it has featured some places in my area. There seem to be two kinds of places. The long-time, old-school favorite and the new hip trendy place that goes for quality food. I like the first kind better.

Yes, I personally love diners. One of the big things I miss from living in New Jersey. 😋
