What your favorite color says about you. In honor of St. Patrick’s Day and the proximate spring season I wanted to write about the color green.
Spring is on it’s way, at least for some portions of the world. Tropical regions of course remain evergreen throughout the year while the southern hemisphere is entering it’s fall season (which means the green will soon be going bye-bye for the winter.)
Most people love the color green, I believe, even if they don’t exactly consider it their favorite. How could someone not love it? Green is the color of growth and vegetation on our planet, the latter of which gives us the oxygen we need to sustain life. For obvious reasons then, green is common color for camouflage.
Green is the color of money… well, here in the U.S. anyway. It’s a color that denotes financial success as well as harmony, prosperity, serenity, luck, jealousy, envy, health, sickness and fertility. Peace and environmental groups often use the color green in their symbology and it’s also a popular color choice for indie political parties and flags of countries.
When used in stop lights, green means that permission has been granted onto you to “go”. Most pool tables are green. Green rooms are used as waiting areas before going onstage or on-camera. Stereotypically, the color green has been used to represent dinosaurs, dragons, aliens, leprechauns and nuclear waste.

Wow, Adora, that’s quite an impressive exploration of the green universe. I think you covered everything, though you never know. Green means “growth,” after all, and who knows where things headed after you posted?
I know I’m stuck on the mint cheesecake. Every time I break free, I’m scrolling up again within seconds. Took me half an hour just to type these two paragraphs, as I spent so much time dreaming. You knew exactly what you were doing when you posted that link, didn’t you, Adora?
